These guys have managed to slip through the net of blogging, they're almost complete and with the brief exception of a guest appearance, they haven't starred on the blog. This is a big shame as the kit is gorgeous and has been a real pleasure to work with and build. When I started One Force, I would have probably placed the Mk IV armour at the bottom of my list of favourite alternate marques, but after staring at them for a while, I'm totally converted.
As ever you can see them posed both with their regular backpacks and with the MaxMini jump-packs.
These jump-packs are much older than the others I have from MaxMini (at least the sculpt is) and this definitely shows as the details on them are a lot softer and messier, nowhere near as crisp as the others, which are outdone again by the Forgeworld parts. I have to say, in future I'll probably be a little more selective of the after-market parts I buy to try and avoid this.
Right now, they just need their symbols painting on and highlighting (as well as the cap'ns head), and then the weathering and damage applying, but they are essentially finished. I'll try and post up soon the completed squad and a shot of the force so far.
Cheers - Andy
p.s.: looks like next week will be a narrative battle report, and the following weeks I'll reveal what I've done with a Stormraven to make it look a little better than the travesty it is straight out of the box.
Nice! Those are looking great, love the maxmini jump packs, gives them a proper old-school feel.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Thanks. All of the parts are such good kits it makes getting a good look from them quite easy, I just wish the details on the packs were a little more crisp, they show there age when you look close.
