Salute 2012

A very quick update, tomorrow I'll be trekking down to London for Salute2012, Europe's largest wargaming trade-show.  Its going to be a busy day just looking around all the stalls I'd like to see, let alone the other 100+ other stalls, and all the games.  I'll be hoping to take loads of photos and will try and tweet anything interesting that I might see, so if you are at all interested, check out my twitter feed on the right (@iron_legion) or just keep an eye on the #salute2012 hashtag.

Stalls I hope to get a chance to drop by are:
  • Maxmini
  • Troll Trader
  • KR Multicase
  • Warlord and Wayland Games
  • Antenociti
  • Forgeworld
  • Wargames Terrain
  • Battle Foam
  • Privateer Press
  • Mantic
  • Black Library
  • Maelstrom
  • Anvil Industries
  • Overlords
  • Micro Art Studios
  • Heresy Minis
For only £11 on the door, and the chance to win one of 250 KR Backpacks along with a whole host of other goodies I'd definitely recommend anyone in the London area that doesn't have anything else to do to get yourselves along.  I might even take along my Shadowseer and enter it into the painting competition, just to see how it would do (poorly is my guess).

Anyone who's there, if you see this chap in the crowd...

...come over and say hi, I'd be delighted to meet someone who follows my little blog.

Cheers, Andy.

  1. Keep an eye out for the other bloggers, mate: they're meeting rn masse at one point I think. The Angry Lurker had something about it...

Wish I could go. I'm driving 4 hours (rural Devon to Portsmouth) to go to - wait for it - a 40th wedding anniversary. Not even family. If I didn't have to pick up my dad and taxi him there I might be tempted to go to London instead.

    Bugger.

I'd appreciate it if you could extend a Draxian hand of welcome, should you bump into any fellow bloggers, please. Draxy-by-proxy, if you will.

That sounds like an STD. Yuck.

    Have fun!

Also, I don't know if they'll be there, but if so, check out Black Scorpion Miniatures - they're so lovely they make me want to paint them for fun...and I don't paint for fun!

    1. Hey Drax

Was a real shame you didn't get a chance to go, I'd definitely add it to your list of to-do's for next year, was a fantastic day although extremely busy. I only managed to bump into one other blogger, but got a very good recommendation from him about another good game. I think I did manage to see Black Scorpion if my memory is right (so many good model companies, its hard to remember them all) and they did indeed have some great minis there.

I'll have some pic heavy posts coming up in the near future with everything I saw so keep your eyes peeled.

      Cheers, Andy
